Brighton Speed Trials 2022

Met up with Tony at the speed trials. He flew over from Norway for the weekend, and I got chance to go over the story of my late fathers crash at the speed trials in 1968. Not only was Tony there, but he welded the exhausts for my fathers bike when he was an apprentice at a local dealership (who sponsored my father).

Finally some pictures of my late fathers bike. In 1968 he hit a bump in the road and spectacularly crashed into a concrete bus shelter. The bike flew through the air landed on him.

Once he was in hospital they continued the race and the next guy hit the same bump as my father. Unfortunately he wasn’t as lucky and died.
